Healing Through Faith,Understanding, and Community
In Isaiah 42:3, the verse reads, “He (Jesus) will not break a bruised reed, or quench a smoldering wick, until he brings justice to victory.” A “bruised reed” is representative of vulnerability, fragility, that can be crushed or destroyed. The verse describes God’s love, compassion, and mercy for those struggling and promises to help them without breaking them or taking away their hope. At PICIE, we adhere to this scriptural foundation to support healing and forge stronger relationships, communities, and society.

What We Value
Our mission is to help transform lives by offering compassion, understanding, support, and encouragement as we explore the deep connections between self, others, and God. We believe that healing and growth happen in the context of these relationships, and that every individual deserves access to care that nurtures both mental and spiritual well-being.
We pursue this mission by providing faith-centered counseling, fostering meaningful community engagement, building collaborative partnerships, and offering thoughtful consultation. Through these efforts, we aim to dismantle stigma, increase access to care, and empower people and organizations to create spaces where healing and transformation are possible.

Meet Dr. Alice Delaney
Dr. Alice Delaney, PhD, is the heart and founder behind the Pathways Institute for Crisis Intervention and Education (PICIE).
With a deep commitment to bridging faith and mental health, Dr. Delaney has spent over a decade leading families, leaders, and communities toward healing and hope.
Her journey began from personal experience, enduring a lifelong struggle with fear and anxiety, and standing in the gap for family members navigating the complexities of the mental health system. These early battles birthed a clear vision: to dismantle the stigma surrounding psychological distress and to empower others with the tools, faith, and courage they need to respond effectively.
Holding a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Christian Counseling, a Master of Education in Rehabilitation Counseling, and a Master of Arts in Sociology emphasizing Human Service Programs, Dr. Delaney has masterfully woven academic excellence with the heart of ministry.

As a speaker, trainer, and consultant, Dr. Delaney brings a unique blend of scholarly depth and lived compassion. She is passionate about equipping individuals to recognize early signs of psychological distress, reduce stigma, and create spaces where recovery and spiritual renewal are possible.
Beyond training and speaking, Dr. Delaney is a skilled grant writer and program designer, securing funding for initiatives that blend faith with practical mental health intervention. Her work continues to shine as a testament to her guiding belief: healing becomes possible when faith leads the way.
At PICIE, Dr. Delaney remains devoted to her mission-creating pathways to hope, resilience, and transformation, one life, one family, and one community at a time.
